Fun Facts About Fran

• Started my degree at 38 while working full time and raising 4 kids as a single mom
• Passion for learning and personal growth – BANABU (Building A New And Better Universe – found Mike Kemski in 2010)
• 30 years working in the employment field – presented and facilitated a variety of employment workshops
• Continued to work as a Career Counsellor after semi-retiring at age 62
• Love to travel – travelled to Alberta with my younger sister and 3 kids (6, 4, 1) pulling a trailer, since then have been to Cuba, Crete Kuai, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, Vancouver, Nova Scotia and Dominican Republic
• Once had baby snakes put on my head and had to show no fear – ask me more about this
• I have 6 grand kids ranging in age from 2 to 31
• Began exercising at age 40 for flexibility and still continue my routine at age 73 (two sets of stretching exercises – in bed and out of bed) allows me to get down on the floor with my grandkids and get back up
• 1st born of 3 children

• Start my day with my Bible reading, a  daily reading from Simple Abundance (Sarah Ban Breathnach), Meditations From the Road (M. Scott Peck) and Daily Reflections for Highly Effective People (Stephen R. Covey)
• Optimistic glass half full and glad to have something to drink type
• Family is my #1 passion, helping others comes next
• My sister was born when I was 11 – I have been looking after babies and young children ever since
• People often stopped at my house and asked if I did babysitting as there were often 8 children in my yard (4 of mine and 4 of the neighbours)
• When I was a child and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said “a mom” – I achieved this at age 23 ½
• I started high school at 12 (turned 13 in November
• Member of Toastmasters since 2002 and have achieved D.T.M designation (Distinguished Toastmaster)
• Have held every executive role in my Toastmasters Clubs – currently a member of 3 clubs
• My mom was a teacher and my dad was a mechanic and a Licence Bureau operator
