Simple Steps to Career Success Through Career Counselling

Have you ever been fired or dismissed from a job and found yourself in need of career counselling?

In January of 2000 it happened to me and I had the opportunity to put into practice what I had been telling my clients for the previous 15 years.  I had come back to work after the Christmas break and was informed I no longer had a job. It felt like my world was falling apart. Have you been there? What did you do?  I allowed myself to feel bad, have a little cry, and then call everyone I knew that might be able to help me to let them know I was looking for work.

However, this event set me on a new path. A path to be the one that controlled my destiny. One where I could help others learn what I had learned. This path was to become a Career Coach to help others deal with managing their careers.  I know you too have plenty of potential, so let me help you achieve your goals.

Career Counseling Can Help You Deal With Changes

Are you feeling unfulfilled in your job?  Do you have a desire for a real change in what you do every day from nine to five, but have no idea what you'd like to do or even where to start looking?

Perhaps you have been an accountant for the past two decades, or a cashier for the past ten years at a local retailer or restaurant but can't escape the feeling that you could be doing more with your life.

Maybe you feel that you are a little too old to start something new or that “all the young kids get the jobs” ?  I believe those are all mistaken lines of thinking and can help you overcome these limiting beliefs.

Did you reach this site today because you have a general feeling that there is something else, something more, something that can give you greater fulfillment in life?  Then you have come to the right place.

Many of my clients have been pleasantly surprised to learn that making that change, taking that next step is nowhere near as difficult, expensive or scary as they had convinced themselves over the years.

Crafting Your Resume

How Does Career Counselling Work?

I will not simply give you a list of available jobs in an area that you think you would like to try: I will sit down with you, over the phone and through email, to learn who you are. I will ask questions such as: What are your current skills, what jobs have you enjoyed in your past, and what you've always wanted to do and then show you what the next steps are to reach the point in your life where your first thought of the day is “I can't wait to get into work!”

Click here to start a conversation with me; Your initial 15 minute consultation has absolutely no charge, just to show you how possible your desire for change is. You will also discover that the rates for ongoing coaching and career guidance services are a lot more affordable than you might have thought.

Here is to you and your brighter, happier and more successful future!

Tips on Writing Your Resume

Everyone in the business world knows that having a good, strong resume can mean the difference between getting a job and not getting a job. You will need to have a resume that is crafted professionally and that will reflect you, your job abilities, and your experience.  Your Resume is the first thing that a potential employer will see before he or she meets you, so you want it to really be compelling and make them want to pick up the phone and call you for an interview.

What I can do is show you a few different ways to craft a resume and ways to make your resume stand out to the employer. I will give you some tips and tricks to get your resume noticed over another applicant. As well, I’ll also give you some advice about the job interview and what you can do to land that job. Finding the job of your dreams isn’t always as simple as just filling out a job application and then waiting for a call. It takes some work on your part and the right tools. I can help!
